Just wondering what type of 818 people ordered. The other thread kinda got me confused and here it's kinda like an overview of how many people pre-ordered the S or R.

Lol.

I ordered an S. I assumed there will be a crash bar or two added into the door to prevent the driver and passengers from being wide open in the event of a T-bone. I'd like to add the front splitter, rear diffuser, and side skirts (all cost dependent). Blue main body with white accents (like the R prototype). I have the blade of an S202 wing at home that I'll make risers for in place of the APR wing. Would also like a heater for those days when it's not quite sane to drive an 818 but I want to anyways.

If there isn't any more side protection in the S I'd like an R minus the bar that prevents a passenger and I'd likely cut off the two bars that would require a helmet anytime you drive. I'd put a full windshield on it (though the small one and a helmet for occasional trips would be fun). Make the doors operational so you can use the frame to climb over instead of worrying about kicking the door each time.

You need to add a selection for those of us who have not ordered yet.

But if you haven't ordered, you can't answer the question "what did you order". ;)

I ordered an S
I need a powder coated frame, heater and would upgrade for more adj shocks if that is avail on the R version

I need a fun street car and autocrosser. 220 whp is my goal

Color selection???

These are the options I plan on getting:
Upgraded Wilwood Brakes
Carbon fiber front splitter
Carbon fiber side skirts
Carbon fiber aero-wing
Heater/defroster
Powdercoated chassis
Traga-top if they release on, if not then the soft-top will do!
200 WHP is my goal. Not too much more then the WRX but just a nice round even number.... :D

And WonderDude, I might add a dreamer section soon! :p

I'm going powdercoated if the frame requires no mods. If I need to cut things off, then I'll have it PC'd locally. Goal is 270whp/390wtq. That's taking what my WRX dyno'd at the wheels, assuming 22% AWD loss to find crank HP/TQ and then assuming 13% loss for the RWD setup. I'd like to get it on a dyno after it's built to see how it compares.

Sure. I can say that I have ordered nothing so far. ;-)

One 818S! Probably a blue one, depending on other color choices. Will need a Heater-Defroster and a Top.

I'm thinking about a blue/black one..... But I really like the white/blue 818-R that they have in the KONI booth!

I wonder with as many preorders that have been showing up for the S if FFR will try for earlier release? I know they will wait till it is ready. But look at the potential profit from over 30 sales! This is what makes America great the small business man with a fresh idea. Best of luck to FFR on making back some cash on your investment. I know I am going to do my part!

I'm still waiting on more detail info. It all looks good so far, but I need more to jump.

Dimensions and weight.
Pics with other people and cars for size referance
More details like wheel liners, door openings, hood and deck openings.
Fuel capacity and confirmed location.

My gut is starting to tell me there might still be a few too many comprimises for me at this point in developement. ***Don't read that as taking anything away from what FFR has done, which is spectacular. It only means that the 818 might not be what I am looking for.

Yes, I like that too. It is entirely possible that I will have my favorite body shop add in the white on the hood and rear deck to emulate the prototype SEMA 818R look. I don't think it would even be all that expensive to do.......

If they allow it, why not just order the panels in the appropriate colors (i.e. car in blue, hood in white)?

That was my original thought too. But after looking at it closely, I noticed that neither the entire hood nor the entire rear deck are painted white. And I don't think they would look right if they were. And if it WAS done that way, for symmetry and flow it would be necessary to paint the door tops white anyhow.

I ordered an S last night. I waver between the R and S models. I believe that after we all know more about options for configuration, there will be a small tide change toward the R. I assume the R to possess greater torsional and longitudinal rigidity than the S, and hope that when we builders know more about the chassis we might be able to modify the passenger area frame members without greatly reducing that advantage. I am not even considering the implications of this kind of modification on race class acceptability. I would like to be able to have a happy, comfortable passenger in the best handling 818 possible. I think this car, with any iteration of the Subaru engine will just be the most fun to be had on wheels.

Ordered the R. I plan on replacing the diagonal brace with a swing out so I can put a passenger/instructor in the car when I need to. Will add carbon fiber bits if they are priced right. Still waiting on my homebuilt car kit from the DMV to confirm if I need a windshield or not. (hopefully don't)

818 R. I like the idea of Volvo headlight wiper for DMV legality plus I will drive/race it in the rain I live in Portland. Guess I need to buy a full face helmet too maybe with the 2nd wiper mounted to it.

Really just need to choose black or white. My miata is white with black accents so I could do a salt & pepper thing? Leaning towards black plus I will probably sell miata once 818 drives. Maybe I can buy an SC next year.

No money has been taken from my account, & my name is not on the list. I'm hoping I didn't submit order incorrectly & need to get back in line. Has money been drawn from your $99 deposit? I figured it was just because FF still coming back from SEMA.

FFR stated that CC won't be hit until after SEMA and things get sorted out down there. Nothing to worry about. But, if you start seeing people state that their CC have ben hit and yours hasn't then just send a quick email or call FFR!

My guess is FFR is involved in meetings about how they will move forward after so many preorders. It may take some time for a game plan and then they will call people hopefully in order that they placed their preorder.

Exactly where I'm at. I think this kit is going to be great for first time builders and it's going to be great to get people into the FFR brand, who'll then go on to buy any of their other offerings, feeling more confident to take them on.

I'm thinking the other 'list' thread should be closed in favour of this one since it'll work a lot better and people won't be accidentally dropped off the list.

Realistically speaking, we don't need the list. It's not all inclusive anyway. It was cool in the beginning, but serves no purpose now. I say just stop updating it altogether...

Agreed. I mean, we already know that FFR has a truck load of pre-orders. Wether or not we're at the top of that pile or the bottom nobody will truly know until FF gives you that magical call or email :D! Also, I'd stick around on this forum if I were you..... :p

Huh?!? Why would I leave? I'm a proponent of the car and plan to build one as soon as there is a roll up window option. Might you have me confused with someone else? :)

IMO, I'd check ebay, copart or if you're still not satisfied, then I'd hit up 818donors.com(AJW Performance)! I believe that they're still looking for one more BETA donor participant..... Anyways, just my two ¢....
