Oh my!!!! Thank You!!!! Absolutely incredible. Almost speechless over here.
Two quick questions after studying all the pictures...
1. How do you put gas in it?
2. How hard is the rear deck lid to remove for maintenance purposes? I am assuming it does not hinge.

Who lost the tire valve covers?
Kidding!
Awesome photos!

I noticed on the 818S that there are hood retaining clips that are different from the 818R. I wonder if there may be a way to secure the hood without clips showing. The front ones could be under the front of the hood in the radiator area and the rear ones could be reached through the wheel wells. Just an idea to make an awesome looking car look better.

Guys,
A few very short answers. The gas cap tooling was not complete and we made the decision to NOT install the wrong one. It goes behind the seats on the body. The hood hinge on the street car is not complete. The street car will not have hood pins or visible fasteners. Tire valve covers are optional (joke there). More next week.

I can't look at any more..Two "Depends" moments in less than 5 minutes is too much!:D
This needs one more small thing added IMHO
A sticker or paint that says:
"Designed and manufactured in the Good Ole USA"
Now as an option you could also put:
"WE built it, not the Govt!"

Your reply came to my email BEFORE you shortened it and not to get political but I was brought up in a blue collar family in Lynn,Mass
Dad worked at GE from Sept 1941, then into the Navy on December 8,1941, mustered out in 46, back to GE where he retired in 1987.
Mom also worked and had 6 kids.
We were taught from day one to get educated, work and try to prosper and also to help those who through mental or physical infirmity could not fend for themselves.
We were NOT taught to depend on the Govt for anything other than to defend the country.
IMHO it is a shame that more don't understand this.
Back to you: Really incredible outcome of this project..

I hope some one is there for the grand unveiling with youtube camera.. Can't wait!!!! Dave give yourself and your Crew lots of kudos. I would like to see the reaction of the people who know nothing about it when their brains first start to realize what it truly is. A work of art that you can race, enjoy, and be proud of the fact that you yourself can be a part of. That's how I am feeling building my Roadster.

That photo gallery is pretty impressive. I think they may need para-medics at SEMA for the 818 displays. People hyper ventilating, some just going unconscious and hitting the floor. It could be dangerous.
I'm really hoping for the best for the development phase for the roadster to go as quickly and seamlessly as possible for my friends who are waiting feverously and for me a little but no nearly as much as the ones who will build first. Good luck Dave and FFR, WEK.

so sexy. but why are the rims 2 different colors?

We had two types of rims for the two different cars (race vs. street). We were just seeing what looked better. we went with the white ones since that was the color on the rendering.

Here are some more photos of the 818R and S that are on our website right now. There are some more images, but I thought that these were some of the best.

Can you get a second seat in the race version? Also where can we get these to save as background or screensavers?

I think I am safe in saying the two versions are clones as of right now. But when you look at the two pics the impressions are totaly different.
Race version: Mean, nasty, stay out of my way, "here to race", "who's my next victim"?
Street version: sophisticated, smooth, "is that a ferrari", "will it go 200 mph"?
WEK.

I have to agree! The white wheels look better to me on both cars. But more importantly, what kind of wheels are gonna be offered on that trailer?

IMO white wheels only look good for pictures. Brake dust renders them ugly in no time.
