For those of you that are using this combination, how did you connect the cable end to the throttle lever on the carb? I'm using the 36" black universal cable. The threaded ball stud that came with the Lokar cable appears to be a #10 thread. There are two flanged holes in the lever - one is 1/4" in diameter and the other is 1/2". I stopped by a couple of the local parts store to see if I could find a 1/4" ball stud which they had but the ball was way too big.

I checked Summit Racing and saw Holley has a package of 4 different sized ball studs for $13 but again, not sure if the ball will be the right size. Also saw that there are plastic/nylon bushings for the 1/2" hole to reduce it to 1/4" but that will still be too big. I checked the Lokar website and couldn't find any other ball studs listed.

I guess I could drill another hole in the carb lever but would rather used one of the flanged holes since those are the right ones to use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ron

This is a Quick Fuel, but this setup used to be on a Holley and the configuration was exactly the same. This is also the Lokar universal cable. In the picture, you can see the hole that I used for the threaded ball stud that comes with the Lokar cable. The hole is already in the throttle lever. I don't remember if it had to be drilled out to fit the Lokar supplied stud, but if it did was only slightly. The two flanged holes are typically used for the return springs.

You also have to figure out a way to mount the fixed end of the cable and the return springs. This picture also shows the Holley 20-112 billet aluminum bracket. Not cheap (around $100) but an elegant and perfect solution.

Thanks Edward. When I bought the Lokar cable, I also got the throttle cable bracket that has a hole for the return spring so I think I should be go to go.
