Type 65 Coupes in South Florida?

Hi Folks,

I'm seriously considering building a 65 Coupe but have a few concerns. I read in another section of the Forum that they leak. And another member said they "shake and stink" - lol.

Other than the racing windows, why would they leak? I'm planning on the aftermarket operable windows. Do they shake because of the extreme cams? Do they stink like an awesome old sports car? Because that's more like perfume to me - lol. I'm looking for a radical daily driver. I currently drive a twin turbo BMW 135i which is lowered and has H & R sway bars and I feel it's too civilized.

I feel a close up look and possibly a ride down the block might answer my question "is the the right choice for me"?

There are 2 being built in Miami right now. One with a Boss 347 and another with a Ford Terminator engine from a Mustang Cobra. If adequately sealed, they will leak and the stink can be reduced substantially by running EFI. Go ahead and take the plunge. You'll learn a lot in building it and you will have more support than you can imagine from this forum and the other one.

Oh, and where will it leak? I plan on the roll up window package from Levy Racing.

Where in Miami? It's closer to me since I'm in Jupiter. OR I know the Ocala area too - just want to get close to one finished if possible.

Oh, I go down there all the time. Never thought of it as that far. No WONDER my 135i has miles adding up so fast!

Is it possible to see your car up close and maybe sit in it to check if I fit? If so, when might be a good time?

Oh, and I'm new here so how do we exchange phone numbers to make more detailed arrangements. I'm going to be in Ft Laud both Saturday late afternoon (Ending up at a birthday party in the evening) and Sunday before and after a post party brunch which occurs at 1 PM. Not really my typical lifestyle but a good friend is having a milestone birthday.
