i have a 2005 4.6 and its a complete motor. im trying to find a good point to lift the engine out of the crate. any ideas where a safe place to lift it from is. id rather not disconnect anything.

On the driver side cylinder head just below the valve cover there are two threaded holes near the the front of the engine. The one with the casted tab above it is what I used, same on passenger side near the rear of the engine. Not sure if yours has the exhaust manifolds still on or not, but I did remove mine for easier access. I used a piece of 1/2" thick, 2"wide cold rolled steel with a hole drilled for the bolt to go through into the cylinder head, then bent in upwards (vertical) after it cleared the valve cover. Then drilled a larger hole near the top for the lifting chain to be attached with a bolt. HTH. Sorry no pics available.
