I need to get a 7 1/2 oilpan. The engine i bought came with a 9 1/2. I have a 393, can anyone tell me of a good one at a reasonable price and where to purchase?

David,

I had an issue with the pan sitting too low on mine as well and ended up going with the Aviad Pan, they are a bit spendy but fit well and look the part. The 155-55356 was the original on the 289 cobra, holds 8qts and is 7 1/2 inches.

another option is Armando's Pans, which are of a similar design to the Aviad and a little bit less expensive, but not much. http://www.aroilpans.com/Roadrace.html

Dave,
Can I interest you in a Kevco rear sump pan and matching pickup?

http://www.kevkoracing.com/ford.htm

They were installed on a 351 based 408 in a roadster but the engine was never run before being pulled to go into another car which won't allow the use of this pan.

List for the pair is $219. You can have them for half price, $109.50, plus shipping.

Let me know if you're interested.

I have an Edelbrock that was on my car when i bought it. I replaced it cause it wasn't much good at autocrosses, but it's yours for the shipping if you want it. email me at cstuard at comcast dot net and put edel as the subject so I don't auto delete. It will get you on the road anyway.
