I think I'm finally finished, maybe a few small things still to do but finished. I just backed it out of the garage so she's a little dirty and it's really an overcast day but you'll get the idea.

People will be asking him "What is the VIN number? CSX what?":D
Except for color it looks like one I tried to buy in 1977..289/340HP with the dual quads..
Ever try to explain to a banker why a "65 Ford is worth 12 grand?"
Like talking to a wall and all he saw was a 25 year old kid...

Couldn't really appreciate fully until I kept going back to the detail and referring to my Cobra book. It really has the nostalgic aura about it that takes you back to the sixties just like in the advertisments for the originals. How much time was spent in the research phase? Pretty cool!!! Thanks, WEK.

John,
That is a great looking car, I wish there were more slab sides kits available out there. That is what I'd really like.

John -
Really nice. What did you use for an exhaust system? I'm wondering it it would fit a MK4 build. I've heard a lot of horror stories about kids and sidepipes and am thinking about trying to do without them.
thanks,
H

I acquired awhile ago an actual 289 luggage rack made by AMCO for the Cobra. Installed it a few days ago.

John O! You did a wicked awsome transformation on your ride. I would love to see her in person! If you don't mind a few ?'s. 1. time estimate in hours on transformation from 427 street to 289 slabside? 2. Estimated cost to make transformation, ie: Mr. Bruce body? other required parts, wheels, interior parts? What % of original 427 parts were reused? Did you paint her as well? Did you make a build log/blog? Any info would be great? I am truly impressed M8!!! Congrats!!!
