Really want to say "thanks" to EFR for coming out and helping us with the setup of the Mendeola Transaxles Baja Designs Factory Five Racing Prototype Development Group GTM. It was an extremely fun day, with smiles all around.

Mr. Robinson has signed up to run as one of the four drivers in this years 25 hour race, and we are very much looking forward to a great adventure, no matter what the outcome may be. Hopefully we can get a bunch of video from that event, but until then, enjoy this short video of the legendary Elliot Forbes Robinson driving the GTM at Thunderhill Raceway...

I would suggest turning the resolution all the way up if possible. It's not the greatest, but it does make a difference.

Very cool video. I really like that sequential transmission for the track and the street. That guy can turn a wheel thats for sure. Wish I had 1/4 that talent.

That looks like a really nice shift set up. I liked the sequence a lot. Thanks crash, WEK.

Damn, that car must be tuned to the tilt! What is the steering ratio? He's moving the wheel quite a bit with little change in direction

It may seem like that becuase he is at very high speed. Most probably it is a tad slow anyways to make the car feel less nervouse.

LOL!

It is a PITA to write every time, but we really couldn't run this car without great sponsors like Mendeola and Baja Designs so I must give credit where credit is due. :)

OMG! I saw this and said "Nah, it can't be him..He is an old fart by now!" I remember racing with him on SCCA tracks in the mid 70's..
He was great then and looks like he hasn't lost his touch..He was a real gentleman on and off the track..

He has definitely aged well, and humbles the "young kids" on the team, who are all over 40 BTW! LOL!

If Kotex and O Magazine wanted to sponser my GTM I'd have you quams about calling it the Kotex-O GTM on Forums and youtube. At the end of the day I'm still driving a GTM. BTW can you give us spacifics on your shifter setup? I've seen it on a couple Corvettes and most race cars but dont know much about it.

The shifter setup is simply a modified FFR arrangement. Nothing special there. I did put a shifter in about a month ago that talks to the computer in order to manage throttle cutting, but PDG decided the system was too complex for them, so they went back to the FFR setup.
