I am already coming up with a budget. I think I am done building rifles for a little while. Going to do A lot of work on my Wifes truck so in a couple years I can sell it and start the savings of large chunks of cash. I figure I can get 3500 for the truck. Should go a long ways towards a transmision and/or doner car.

I started with Craigslist to sell all the large items I did not want to ship (i.e. hood, doors, fenders, etc). After that I sold a ton of parts on the corvette forum (www.corvetteforum.com). Sell everything separately and keep every part as you will sell the strangest stuff. I ended up with all the parts I needed for the GTM including the LS1, still have some parts left and made about $500 after paying for the donor, shipping, etc. Fuzzy JK on the forum has some great posts regarding donor selection.

I sold the majority of the unused parts from my donor on eBay, some on the Corvette forums. Paid $5200 for the donor, sold about $8800 worth of parts in 10 months. Would do it again but it does take a fair bit of time to post, pack, and ship all of the items.
