Just a quick note to post some information that I just received from ARP --
When bolting down a clutch pressure plate using their bolts on a small-block ford, the acceptable service torque of their 5/16 bolts are between 18 and 24 ft/lb. After reading countless posts debating 20 vs 35 ft/lbs, i had to call to find which is correct. Mike Forte was advocating the lower amount (as was Engine factory) , while some online torque sheets were posting 35 . Well, according to ARP, 18 to 22 will do the trick with some thread lock or ideally the ARP lube.
