All-

Can anyone help shed some light on how the headlight switch gets wired? I am using the Ron Francis harness and the Russ Thompson turn signal, and I have the basics down with the terminal blocks and the relays, but I am completely baffled as to which wire goes where. For example, can anyone explain the panel dimmer circuit? Or, the parking lights?

There is absolutely NO documentation from FFR or Ron Francis on how to do this. I am beginning to suspect that I am missing something, as there was no connector to the switch itself in my kit (ie, I had to crimp on my own 1/4" terminals to the RF harness...)

Thanks so much in advance,

Jon

Here are a few wiring diagrams that John made up for use with the Painless wiring harness but you should be able to figure these out very easily. One is for use with a push pull light switch the other is for use with a three position toggle switch.

This is an old blog post of mine on how I wired my headlight switch. Mine is a little more complicated since I have door switches, courtesy lights, etc, but might be helpful info for you anyway. I have the Ron Francis harness too, but went with a different switch. Let me know if you have questions.

If you are using the ffr vintage gauges the dimmer on your switch will not work for these gauges
(speed hut). Contact them and get their dimmer for about $18. Real easy to install, plug and play.

I located one in my file that is done for the Ron Francis harness:

Guys - Thanks SO much for the responses. I read them just before I went to sleep the other night, and I spent the night ruminating on it while I was in and out of sleep; I came to the conclusion that I was clearly missing something. So, first thing in the morning I went and checked and sure enough, I was missing the Ron Francis harness to the headlight switch, which was buried in the pedal box. I had erroneously assumed that it was part of the dash bundle. Ahhhhh....

Thanks again
