I put the body on this weekend and took my illegal spin around the block. It all went quite well.

I put the right hand pipes on and still no problem. When I moved over to the driver's side, I found I needed an inch of height in the cutout! The cutouts were even so I measured the distance from the ground to the headers and, sure enough, the left side is high. I've got the engine in slightly tilted @$$%^&****(&^!

I'm hoping I can loosen the mounts and wrestle it over a bit. Sure don't want to disassemble anything. Has anyone had a similar issue or have a suggestion on the easiest fix?

Do a search here and on the other forum. This is getting to be quite common. You are lucky needing only one inch. You will be able to move the engine around on it's mounts and may only need a 1/2 inch on each side. Don't do any cutting/grinding til you read some posts on this which a search will bring up.

Yes , keep massaging , it should get close if not perfect.

That's pretty common. Mine was just about the same as yours. Had to loosen the mount bolts and then push down on one side. After that there was one more adjustment but very little compared to the first time. Then it was perfect. It's not symetrical. You'll hear that a lot. Good luck. WEK.

Yeah, "loosen the mounts and wrestle it over a bit" :)

Since the end of the headers are so far out from the engine it won't take much by the time they move through the arc. First time I did it I went too far the other way and that was with only about a 1/8" change on both mounts!

Good luck,
Jeff

dont worry, wicked easy fix as most have suggested. Especially with the headers installed. Loosen the mounts and push down on the end of the header. Do this until you are happen and then tighten the mounts.

I was able to move it a bit and can get the vertical distance even. Now that brings up problem number two - the driver's side headers are about 1/2" too far forward. I'll keep fiddling.

good to see your getting "there".

If you haven't already done so install the front splash panels or all of your fiddling will be for nought.

I know everybody says this, but I don't notice a difference w/ my front splash panels off/on?
