My wife was in Boston for business last week, so I drove out from Illinois to spend this past weekend with her there. No trip to the fine state of Mass would be complete without a trip to Cape Cod, I told her, along with the obligatory stop at FFR. I picked-up a Mk4 trunk lid for my Mk3.1 and a few other misc parts. She opted for a t-shirt and even wanted to take a tour, so one of the guys was happy to show her around (I got the full tour from Dave back when I picked 7074 up in Oct 2009).
For those interested in the 818, it looks like it's coming along. There was a car going to gether in the R&D room, visible through the office area windows, that we were told would be unveiled at SEMA. There was no effort to hide it, though, so those who are thinking about one ought to go check it out. Not much body on it, but the chassis sure looks cool.
Sorry for no pics... my wife even mentioned as we were driving out onto Cape Cod that I should have taken some photos of all the cars staged for delivery as she noticed that they had names on the noses and was surprised I wasn't posting shots of everyone's cars. DOH! What was I thinking.
Anyway, it was a great trip - 2500 miles in five days. We had a few great meals - (I highly recommend dinner in Old North Square in Boston at Mamma Maria's and at the East Bay Grill in Plymouth) - and a wonderful time exploring around Cape Cod and Plymouth.
Now to search for the "how-to" on making the license plate fit on the Mk4 trunk lid.
