I'm having to create custom headers (Coyote) so am having to hang the side pipes before the headers can be built. I've got the body on and doors aligned, etc, but am trying to determine what the spacing should be between the body (under doors) and the pipes. I'd like to put the side pipe covers on at some point, so don't want to get it too close to the body. Measurements and pictures would be wonderful. Thanks

I notice you haven't gotten a response yet so this will bump it back up to the top so more will get a chance to see.

I have a MkIII body and it is not on the chassis but the pipes look very good to my satisfaction and amazement (did a test fit of body). I can't give you a direct mesasurement but will look for some pics. But I can tell you that my side pipes are 2.5 in from the driver's side foot box looking straight down. That is measuring from the smaller diameter of the side pipes between four tubes and "muffler section". On the PS the distance is a little less, 2 in at the foot box same location (small dia part of side pipe). So if I were you, I would place the pipes parrallel to the frame and 2.25 in from the foot boxes to get the best results (symetrical look on both sides). That should also accomodate your side pipe sheilds. I am about to purchase the ceramic side pipe covers from "Finish Line", I think that's where I saw them. I will send you a pic when I do a test fit. You are in a rather enviable position in that your engine and side pipes can be perfectly placed to your specs and the exhaust built to fit even thru the side holes in the body. If that isn't a custom, one off, fit I haven't seen one!!! Good luck. WEK
