does anyone have pitcures of the front mounts? I'm test fitting the body, and struggling with the front reinstalling the front mounts. They seem to be too difficult going back in. I could force them, but a little nervous to do that. Here's what I'm doing... Bolt slides in from front/washer/Angled spacer (angle touching body)/washer with rubber back touching body/ body / washer/ angled spacer/frame/bolt... Make sense?

To clarify, this is for a Mark4 roadster. I've also noticed that all the spacers are different sizes, and even though I kept them together from when I took the body off, I"m not positive whether the smaller spacer goes outside the body, or inside the body. Any help is appreciated.

Who'd have thought that after all I've done on the roadster that this would be frustrating...

Hope these photos help. I have them stashed away so I can not measure them.

This is the way they came before I took the body off. No idea about the rubber parts you mentioned.

these were great... If anyone has measurements, Id be grateful as I'm still struggling a bit... (PS... Lmmargheritis... The rubber part I mentioned as was the back side of the washer that you see on your front passenger photo's from the front of the car... The side touching the body has rubber to protect the paint.

The quickjack sleeves are different lengths inside and out as well as side to side:

RH upper=2 5/8" inside; 3 1/8" outside
RH lower=2 1/8" inside; 3 1/4" outside

LH upper=2 5/8" inside; 3 1/8" outside
LH lower=2 1/16" inside; 3 5/8" outside

Good luck,
Jeff

Jeff, this is exactly what I needed. Thanks. Just for complete clarity, can you confirm whether RH = Drivers or Passenger side? Thanks sir

Generally speaking, for automotive purposes when referencing RH and LH it is from seated in the car---therefore LH=driver's side and RH=passenger's side.

This was probably one of the most frustrating parts of our build. Its a very poor design and can be confusing and hard to fit together. It helps to jack up the front of the body too under the oil cooler area. The body does NOT sit on rails along the engine bay like you would expect. It actually hovers a small bit over them. These mounts also dictate alignment of the hood... On top of all that, when you tighten them after paint you will start getting some small spider web cracks.

In my opinion, this is the one major downfall to the kit that we were pretty dissapointed about.

Thanks. I get the "Generally" part of your description. I've just found (the hard way) that not everyone follows that, so now... I ask for confirmation!

Once again, I'm amazed and thankful for the quick and outstanding information I get from my fellow builders... Thanks guys.

Jeff, I went out this morning and measured all my quickjack sleeves, but the only one that matched your numbers were the LF (DS) Lower. Here's what I had:

RH (Passenger Side) Top = 2 3/8" inside; 2 7/8" outside
RH (Passenger Side) Lower = 2 7/8" inside; 3 1/4" outside

LH (Driver Side) Top = 2 5/8" inside; 2 7/8" outside
LH (Driver Side) Lower = 2 1/16" inside; 3 5/8" outside

So apparently, there is no consistency on what FF is shipping on these. I installed them as this, but the most disturbing thing is that the RH Side (Passenger) upper has slack on the inner side. Essentially the 2 3/8" spacer doesn't take up enough room...

I guess I'll call FF tomorrow, unless anyone has any ideas...

If you are getting fiberglass cracks as you tighten the bolts/nuts, you need to use some washers for spacers. Or substitute one of the other sleaves that are is slightly different length.
