from what i have read..... not much HP gain.... and the gain is ALL at high revs. But it is purdy!

Correct, the Boss 302 is a DEEP breather with lots of power 4K on up. The tuning makes it livable down low, but just like its classic name sake, it's a revver and likes to breathe up top. That manifold, other than looks, won't do much without the cams, etc of the Boss...
