View Full Version : New Member Looking for Some Help
Hello All,
I have been researching the acquistion of a Type 65 and I am wondering if anyone can suggest a good FF authorized builder. I am located in Western NY and on a kit car site I found two in the New England area - Nor'East which does not seem to have a web site and Alton Motorsports which lists themselves as an authorzid FF builder. I am awaiting an email from FF with any recomendations for these companies. Any recommendations (or warnings) will be greatly appreciated. Last year I sold my Shelby GT Mustang and I am anxious to move on to my next car. I'm sure I will soon have some other questions about the Coupe and I look forward to communicating with fellow car nuts like me. I was not considering the Coupe until recently. I have known about the car forever but as it sometimes happens with car guys I just suddenly got bit with this bug and I am looking for any help I can get.
Thanks!

If you want a place with a solid reputation and a long list of happy customers then you need to call Jeff @ Whitby. http://www.whitbymotorsports.com/UHome.asp They are not that local to you (NC) but are no more than a 10 to 12 hour drive.
+1 for Jeff Collins and his team at Whitby Motorcars. Great guys and excellent facilities. They also built Dave Smith's Daytona.

Thank you both for the recommendation. I will check them out. Being local is not as important as working with someone who is highly recommended.

Everson knows what he's doing and does a lot of work for people in New England.
Thanks for the additional recommendations on these guys. It will take me some time to have some conversations but I feel good knowing that I have some solid options.
And as I work through this decision I am also hoping to actually see and ride in one of these cars so I can experience one first hand. Are any owners here located in the Western NY area (or somewhere relatively close) or know anybody who is? Would love to check out a real car and get a ride.
Thansk again for the help and support.

There are a few members in the Rochester area with coupes at varying stages of completion. I have seen two completed ones but do not believe they are forum members. I am in Honeoye Falls and you are welcome to stop over and check out mine - it is basically as you would receive it from FFR. I am finishing up my garage before diving into it. Shoot me a pm if interested and I will get you some contact info.
If you are looking to buy a completed car you are way better off financially finding one that is already built as you will likely be able to buy it for less than the cost of parts. You can then tweak it to your liking for way less than contracting someone to build one for you.

I build roadsters, coupes, hotrods and any other kits from start to finish. I am located in Norton, MA. To date I have done 32 FFRs including 3 coupes.
Call me any time to discuss
Thanks mike Everson
