The fall Autofair is upon us. Jim Hunt has secured 25 prime pit row show spots for Saturday Sept 22, and Sun Sept 23. If you can come one day or both days please email info@ whitbymotorsports.com. We have space available on both days, and would love to see you there. We will award trophies and dash plaques based on your vote. Also the speedway is looking for your ideas. Please share what you would like to do with your car. Ideas for a better show experience, events outside the show. For example this year they allowed autofair participants to run on the drag strip, and the speedway. They also have a drive in movie night on the big screen at the track during the summer. Please share your ideas and don't forget to let us know you are coming. We look forward to seeing everyone at the show.
Jeff

If the speedway wants to make this a better "Car Show' experience, they might consider having people bring their cars to SHOW, and not have "For Sale" signs plastered all over them. When my nephew and I walk the speedway on Friday afternoon, just about every car parked on the track, had for sale signs on them. It felt like walking through a used car lot, instead of going to a car show. They advertise hot rods and collector cars. But you walk in and see 2012 F-250's with lift kits, or a 199-something Buick Regal, that was obviously only there to try and sell.
Also, they may want to give some thought to limiting the cars to specific year ranges. We can go to the WalMart parking lot and see 2012 Volkswagen Beetles, or Fiat 500's...
It was nice to turn the corner, and see the Candy Apple Red FFR 33, the Cobras, and Mr. Martin's GTM sitting in front of your display. I was also a little disappointed to get there, and see that the entire pit lane was empty: Not a single car was parked there. Why even bother to advertise that the Show will run from 9/20 through 9/23, if the real show cars aren't going to show up until 9/22?
In the grand scheme of things, it was just 10 bucks, a little time, and gas to drive the 30 miles each way... I'm sure that things were much more organized and in full swing on Saturday. I had a nice time walking around, and there were a couple of cars that were fun to see.
Hopefully, the Good Guys show in October will be a better show. They usually are.

Thanks for the feedback Stig, it was good to see you Friday. The speedway has asked for our help and we will pass it along. Grover had some good ideas too, if anyone else has any they would like to share let us know. If they can give us weather like we had this weekend I think that would please everyone. I really enjoy catching up at the show, I wish we could hang out more often. Thanks so much for coming out and supporting us. I believe history was made at this autofair. I am trying to verify, and will wait on the affected owner to break the news. I will get some pictures up soon, we are trying to catch up now. Earl anytime you need anything hidden around Hooters I'm your guy ; ). Glad you were able to find it.
