hello,
I'm looking for advice on a donor car for a MKIV F5 roadster from somebody who has gone down this route. Looking at chevy and ford.

:cool:Well, I don't have a Mk4, but I did go donor....
First, unless you have some loyalty to Chevy, stay with Ford , (for this car)....When the hood goes up, everyone will expect to see a Ford power plant, and you will find yourself apologizing for the engine....I have nothing against Chevrolet power plants, but this is not the car for one....Build a GTM or a '33 if you want to go Chevy.
These cars are designed for the Ford engine, and you will find yourself having to make modifications , when you should be spending time assembling the car.
I hope this is the advice you're looking for.

My husband was going to do a kit car and never got around to it. Our '88 5.0 mustang was totaled by a rear end collision, we bought the salvage back and he pulled all the parts for the build. We are on to other projects and he is ready to part with these items. It is everything minus the kit car plus an extra transmission. Location is SoCal.
