View Full Version : Wilwood Rear Caliper Clearance Issue

I mounted my rear wheels (FR500: 17"x10.5") for the first time with the Wilwood rear calipers installed, and the wheels will not seat fully and can not be torqued down. The inside of the wheel rim (where the balancing weights are installed) is contacting the body of the caliper, towards the parking brake end of it. Looks like I need an 1/8" more clearance.
Is there a "thinner" Wilwood caliper, maybe WITHOUT the parking brake assembly? (I'm building a Challenge Car without the E-brake anyway) I didn't want to change wheels as I want the 10.5" depth. Fronts fit perfect.
I have double checked my caliper bracket shims and they are what's needed to center the pad on the rotor.

Help?

I have a 12.2" comp rear 4 piston kit that is the best you can use available for the rears.

I assume they are the Wilwoods you have on your page? Will they fit the same bracket? I have the Moser rear end.

The comp live axle kit on my site is the one I'm talking about and it will bolt up to the moser diff. All the brackets and hardware comes with it.
