George Kennedy, writer for The Boston Globe and Hemmings Motor News, recently posted a blog on BoldRide.com titled “One Hour with Massive Power” detailing his expereince driving a Factory Five Mk4 Roadster.

The article discussed George’s boyhood dream of owning a C-car and how he discovered Factory Five could make that dream come true. “Of the replica kit cars on the market today (and there are many),” writes Geroge, “the Factory Five lineup is perhaps the best collection of retro rides available.”

George also said, “the biggest fun on the highway was dropping it down to 4th and laying into the throttle, and letting roar of the enigne overtake the drone of wind buffeting your ears. You are in an absolute tunnel of sight, sound, smell and feel, and the car is overwhelming all of these senses.”

Thanks for the great write-up George and glad you had fun driving the Mk4!

I liked the article but I had to read this line twice. "As Smith put it 5th is for talking to your wife, 4th is for turning her out.” Then I realized he misspelled tuning.

Mikey_P-

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that had to read that over again!! I thought Dave actually turns out his wife in 5th gear--- that's pretty cold blooded man.... Then I too realized he meant he "tuned" her out, and I laughed out loud!

I'm glad I am not alone.

Regards,

Steve

Lol on the tuning her out comment. Still remember one of the first real drives my wife went on with me, a group of guys and we hit this great uphill section from a stop, doing about 75 up the hill in third gear, and she is yelling something about doing almost 90. The cars are fun for sure!!! :-)
