Henry Ford quote above

So I assume there will be a limited number of colors available, right? Or just the red?

Any thoughts?

I think white, black, red is a good start, maybe silver/grey

I think somewhere Dave responded saying there might be a couple colors available but all that will be shelled out after there's a design. But my assumption is the same as yours, probably just 1 or 2 color options initially and I bet it's red and black considering the colors their current kit bodies come in.

I would love to see an electron blue like the C5 corvettes had. Its one of those colors that looks good reguardless of what car its on. Some cars look good in some colors, so I'm hoping the body design will help choose a few good colors for the car. I'm hoping for atleast 3 color choices, white not being one of them. Who wants a white sports car??

I'm thinking World Rally Blue (WRX color) might be cool too... :)

A metallic gel coat would be top notch. I wonder how difficult it would be vs the flat colors with no metallic.
Wait a minute, we are trying to keep this under 10 grand right? :p

That sounds like a DVD I saw awhile back.

Do we want another poll for color choices? Silver is my vote.

I too was thinking the color choices would be limited, since producing and stocking so many diffent gelcoat panels in each color would be costly. In another thread I posted about those vinyl panels that are now being offered as alternatives to paint (mostly for adding graphics, like flames). The panels are laser cut to the exact dimensions of the car they will go on (these aren't those rolling billboard cars you've seen, its intended to be like a real paint job).

I have not seen one in person, so I was wondering if this would even look acceptable for this car, and if buyers would be OK with it. The concept could be that FFR could offer way more standard colors, and even graphics, and even custom graphics, at way less cost (they'd only have to stock the precut vinyl panels, and apply them to the body at ship-time.)

Subaru Blue with Gold wheels... you know the look.
Black with the gold wheels would look good too.

Yessir...blue and gold looks goood. I may keep my 17x7.5 wheels and recoat them since they've got lots of chips and stuff from age. But, I'd like to go wider.

Mine will be black with bronze wheels.

I would think that "stocked" colors would be limited to very popular ones, but due to the nature of fiberglass and gelcoat, if wanted to order a kit and didn't mind waiting that almost any color would be fairly easy to accommodate.

I heard about some carbon fiber looking "wraps" that might be worth a shot.
