Anyone else having issues with the three little U-shaped clips bending. It seems that all it takes is a slight push on the lens to bend the clips and leave the lamp flopping around inside the chrome mounting ring. I just disassembled and straightened the clips for the second time since May. I might resort to hot glue if it happens again.

I have had this problem ever since that generation of lights were introduced. I put a small bead of silicone between the light and ring. About a 1/2 inch in 3 spots.

Yep....the whole headlight assembly was a disappointment for me. Pretty cheaply made.

Joe, I think you will find that quite a few of us have made new clips from left over aluminum, panel parts we didn't use. I took some scrap and fashioned some new clips out of .040 aluminum. 2 things that we can all relate to is that everyone leans on the front headlights and the first place everyone touches on your car at a car show is the chrome roll bar and leaves those beautiful fingerprints on the freshly cleaned roll bar.

I don't mind the fingerprints on the roll bar. I really flip out at the unsupervised 5 year old savage-in-training who uses my side pipe as a step so he can get ice cream drips on the inner door panel.

Well-known problem. Don't blame Factory Five because they don't make the headlight kit. Just make stronger clips.
