MK3 Hardtop

Hello,
Looking for advice on a suitable Hardtop and side windows for MK4, FF5 say they don't have one.

Give them a call and see if their tops will work on a mk4. I'm deciding between a hard or soft top from them now.

I suspect that none of the couple of hardtops will fit a MkIV w/o mods. The MkIV body has somewhat of a 'dropped butt' mod built into it. I did the drop butt mod on my MkII w/ an APE top and got it to work w/ a tapered foam seal. It's about 1/8 inch just behind the door and about a 7/8 inch in the center just ahead of the trunk lid. I also ovaled the holes in the windshield brackets to be able to raise the w/s as far as possible.

Jeff at Whitby will get to the emails at some point... he's also on this forum so you may want to message him here. He's better (faster) by phone... My FFR #7079 is with him now and about finished with the soft top install. When I was in research mode last year for a top they didn't do a hard top, but had the best soft top in the business for a reasonable price. I remember the next soft top was $3,000+. Good luck.
