Hi guys I mounted the parking brake handle I ran the cables to the rear brakes. And when I try to conect the cables to the swivels it's to short. I followed the book to the T and it's just to short. Any suggestions. Has anyone made the threaded area longer. And ideas

How short is too short? , you have to pull on them to get them in, they will be under tension

I pulled them tight without causing Brake action. If I pull to tight it will brake the wheel. It approx 1/8 to short. I am having my weld shop add a 1/2 inch section. To allow for install with some slack.

As ripetide mentioned, They are under tension. A way to check it out without making it permanent is to get an elongated nut at the hardware and then put a peice of threaded rod at the end to get all the slack you need. Then hook everything up and exercise it until the cables are functioning as expected. At this point you can see if you are OK or that you have more length in the cable than you thought. Then you can remove the extension and hook the cable to the original threaded rod. So far I have found that these cables are a real PITA. Good luck, WEK.
