In Wisconsin if I build the Cobra or Type 65 Coupe I can bypass emissions requirements because they are replicas of vehicles not requiring emissions testing - pre-1997 vehicles do not require testing. So, does a Project 818 car require testing?

should be all the info you need. I just skimmed it a bit and I think you're fine.

Thanks Zodiac. Good stuff. In the case of the 818, it looks like the registration is based on the age of the engine. In the case of a Cobra or Daytona Type 65 they replicate a 1960's car, so no emissions.

There is a thread on emissions info, intent being to collect info for all states in a single thread. Can a mod merge this conversation into that thread?

I have recently been thru the emission testing here in Oz - and we have a very similar setup to CA - I was using a MazdaSpeed6 engine and it went thru very clean.. I think a couple of the key issues are a mechanically sound engine (rings and bearings) and a good tune... just my 2c worth ;-)
