Need some help. I'm trying to plan the car out that I want to build when I get back to the states in a few months. I want to drop in a 351 Winsor coupled with a T-56 trans. What kind of bellhousing do I need to get to make the fit and who has any reccomendations on where I can get the bellhousing?

I know some people like the fact that they can say that they have six speeds, but in these cars it a waste. Not only in space, but also money wise.
You'll only be able to use a IRS with the T-56 configuration, as the overall length of the transmission does not allow for a drive shaft on any length that could articulate with a live axle.

Which ever trans you end upwith I highly recommend the Quicktime scattershield. you can see it at the Fortes link above.

+1 with Russ on the Quicktime.
+1 with Steven with the height problem with the 351.

Doesn't the new Coupe nose give you more engine room?

302 based 347 stroker is superior to a 351; lighter, less friction in the mains and more compact. TKO 500 with a scatter shield or and old SROD bell housing. Let the Good times Roll!

No, it was initially rumored to have more room, but that was incorrect.

Hank,
Jim Schenk answered the "hood height" question ... I was wrong, the next Gen hood has not been changed. However, that was a running change was made 3-4 years ago, giving about 1 1/2" more hood clearance at the bubble. So the long answer is yes, there is more hood clearance on the newer kits. Sorry about the confusion.
