What about this plugin? It's free to set up the forum to work with it, but it costs 3 bucks to download it to the iPhone and Android.

Does anyone have any input on this plugin? Do you think we should offer it as an option? Does anyone know of a better option?

What are your thoughts?

I don't know if we need the phone software, but a chat/IM thing of other online users would be kind of cool.

David, looks kind of interesting, from the name I thought maybe it was a chat thing, not a way to view the forum on a smart phone.

I guess my thought is there are plenty of guys who access the forum from phones, if its free from the board side then why not make it available to those who want to use it, or maybe already have it for other forums they frequent.

I use the android version for a couple of other forums. Not a lot of bells and whistles
but it's a decent straight forward app for keeping up on the forums.

Good feedback so far...

Since it is free my inclination is to go ahead and try it. Does anyone know of another option?

Any more feedback?

Frankly - the online CHAT feature that Bill implemented on ffcobra.com went TIA pretty quickly... I think any sort of add-on like that will do about the same thing... It may just be me talkin' here but quite honestly - I "talk" with you guys when I have a few free moments... There's been many times when I started typing a message and finished it a few days later..
I dunno - The real time thing just doesn't do a heckuva lot for me.. If I want to talk with someone in REAL TIME - I'll pick up the phone and call.. A lot of freebie alternatives out there too.. Skype being just one.

I use for another forum and like it pretty good. Like Ted said not a lot of bells and whistles but the forum seems to run faster on T-A-T than through Safari.

Actually - despite the name - the app seemed to me to be an alternate view into the forum, not a chat client. It's just a native smart phone forum view application. The only add-on I saw was notification for subscribed threads, which is still being rolled out.

I think it would be worth trying if it makes viewing the forum with a handheld easier...

I totally misunderstood... Sorry David..

I don't use my phone much for browsing - maybe if I were stuck on a train or bus or something... I'm sure many others would find it handy...
