Congratualtions! It's a decision you will never regret. I did the same last November................couldn't pass up the Winter Sale. You will be amazed that no matter how bad a day your are having, when you see that roadster sitting in your garage, all the bad disappears!!!

Funny, after almost 20 years of home schooling our 6 children my wife re-entered the work force. She has always wanted one of the new generation VW Bugs. She says the same thing. When she has a bad day she puts the top down, and absorbs the sun. Does not matter what traffic is like.

So Bill, this is Bill P from Bowie right? Yeah, now we will start seeing you at BE Sunday AM right! Glad it is finally happening. I just got back from running an autocross w/ 4 other FFRs. Had a great day!

yup, the prime directive:

A convertible always makes your day and perspective on life better

Bill3422,

First of all, congrats on pulling the trigger. One cool thing about this is that down the road after the halo effect wears off you will see the lower control arms or whatever other goody you got on the sale and you will smile. It's sort of like scoring in the stock market but you can actually see the product!

BTW, it just so happens that my wife home schooled 2 children about 30 yrs ago in AZ. She was one of the first to do so in the state (I think 3rd). She had to prepare a curriculum which had to be approved and submit outcome reports regularly. Kids turned out great for it. Personally, home schooling 6 sounds like your wife is some kind of hero. I'm sure you appreciate what she did. But just to clarify, she never left the "workforce", she just changed jobs. Hope she enjoys the bug as much as you will your roadster!!! Good luck to both of you. WEK.

Thanks All!

Any one move the battery to the front?

David, thanks, started the blog.

S&B, home schooling was the best thing we ever did. Yes she is my hero, the kids are starting to come around too. The oldest is in ministry in a local church, #2 got his master degree by 22 and started his own tutoring company. #3 is in Denver working on his electrical engineering degree and is a Sargent in the Air Force reserves. #4 is working in Denver as an events planner, #5 teaches snow boarding and mountain climbing in Breckenridge CO, #6 is going to New Zealand to work. Amazing! All employed and doing well.

For moving the battery to the front, check out the Breeze battery box - it locates the battery low in the front of the car between the "X" member and the front four-inch round tube. The part comes in mill-finish stainless steel, but here's a photo of mine installed after being powdercoated:

Well, you have me beat. It only took me nine years to pull the trigger. I got my kit in Jan and am loving every minute of it.
