Quick question for thise who already know the answer to this.
Where is the best place to mount the horns and the front harness only has wiring for one horn - I assume the DS horn wires need to be tapped into to accomodate the PS horn?
Thx for the help

I mounted mine on the brackets for the Breeze radiator support.

Similar, on the lower radiator support, but on the passenger side. My fuse box is in the glove box, so the wiring for the front (lights, fan, horn, etc.) are on the pass side. In this location, they're right behind the brake cooling inlet. Works well.
Some guys mount them on the x-brace. That also works well, but that area is pretty crowded for me already with the radiator overflow and soon-to-be electric power steering pump.
You can see all my wiring and the horn mounting in this picture, especially if you double click a couple times to get to the largest version.

Hey, Jester. The two horn wires each go to a horn. The ground is in the horn bodies. I discovered this through trial and error - I thought my horns were bad until I grounded the mounting bracket with one wire to each horn.

Assuming you're mounting two horns, easiest to mount them together as responses and pictures (including mine) show. Daisy chain the wiring to both horns, e.g. power wire from harness / horn relay to one horn + and then a short jumper wire to + on the other horn. Same for the ground lugs. You can see this is the picture in post #4. Note some horns are ground through the mounting bolt/bracket (especially OEM'S) as mentioned. Others like the ones I bought have two lugs, one for + and one for ground.

I mounted my horns on the upper front suspension bracket on the driver's side (Mk4) as shown in the photos. I haven't mounted the body yet, however. Anyone see a problem?1106411065

Made a bracket for the round tube x brace and mounted both horns to the bracket.

Mine are on the "X" frame on the front side using the standard mustang mounting bracket as they came from the donor.

Horns are usually mounted pointing down to keep water and debris out. Not that these cars see much rain.

My horns wouldn't fit on the X frame.

Jester, I don't know if you have purchased you horns already but I couldn't be happier with mine. Hella tri-air horns can be purchased from any of the bigger outfits like Jegs or Summit and have a sound that befits an exotic like our cars. I just couldn't handle that electric horn sound:

I made a couple of brackets out of 1/8" X 2" aluminum, bent in a vice and painted with POR 15. The bracket would work on either a square or round tube. They are reallt loud and have the best sound I've ever heard on any of our cars, IMHO.

I located my Hellas low and in the front, just ahead of the tips of the 4-inch diameter chassis tubes. I too aimed them downwards, but that's more to bounce the sound ahead off the pavement than to keep out water, although the latter seems like a good idea too.
