View Full Version : Mk4 Challenge: Fuel Cage Install

Just received my fuel cage for my fuel cell.
I want to confirm the install as its nowhere in the guide. I see 4 mounting holes on the cage itself (front& back), which appear to mount to the existing locations on the frame, then 2 holes for the strap on top.
But I received 4 brackets (2 pairs) and 12 bolts/nuts.
Can you provide any additional info on this? Thanks.

Thanks for the pictures! OK front makes sense. Its this back portion that is confusing: so I need to drill a hole for that bottom bolt though the lower tube in the frame, to make the bracket secure? (last picture lower bolt that is not tightened)

No you dont need to drill anything.
There are brackets that you replace the lower bracket that holds the back of the body (lower bolt), the tab on the fuel cell frame lines up with that bracket and you put a bolt through the bracket and the cell tab.
Id take a better pic but the car is at Mark's Dougherty's place.
