I would like to take a moment and introduce myself. I've been lurking in the forum for about 2 months now, and I figured since I received my donor today, I should go ahead and register and begin actively taking part in the forum. My name is Andrew and I am a ground support mechanic for Delta Air Lines in Atlanta, Georgia. I have been interested in building a Factory Five kit since January and was saving up for a Mk IV, but now that the 818 is coming, I have shifted my focus. I made this decision partially because of cost, but also because I have owned a 2004 WRX STi. I flew up to Wareham back in late June to meet Dave and tour the awesome facility. If you haven't met Dave yet, you should. His energy and enthusiasm towards the company and this project is nothing short of inspirational! Thank you again Dave!

Welcome to the forum Andrew. Since you have the connections, why don't you shoot us some tickets and we all will fly up to meet Dave. :) Apparently you must be doing a little more than lurking since you already have a donor. Start posting some pics. We love to see teardowns.

I will start taking the car apart in the morning, so I'll make sure to take plenty of pictures.

I just joined as well a few days ago. Do you live in the Forsyth County area? I am probably going to wait until the Targa is ready plus I have a couple of other projects to finish, but it would be nice if there were a few guys around here working on one of these.

I'm over in Carrollton, just west of Six Flags and Douglasville.

Yea that is a good drive from here. My uncle has a hanger in Douglasville and I try to get over there to see his projects, but the drive keeps me from doing it as much as I would like.

Is he the one on 166/92?

Honestly I don't know the area that well. I usually meet him at his house and ride with him there. He restores WWII fighters there. He also has his old race plane from the 60's. If that rings any bells. He was a crew chief for the P51 in WWII and then he was a pilot for Eastern.
