Factory Five Cat Converter Pipe Heat Shield -Has anyone used these on their GTM?

I bought a set, thinking that they actually covered the Catalytic Converters to shield the heat that they generate. Then I noticed that these are for the pipes that run from the stock manifolds to the cats (Kit Parts). Since I'm using the Kooks system, I'm wondering whether or not these are usable.

I'd like your input in order to decide my best way to insulate the exhaust and cats in an attempt to reduce engine bay heat.
