Was watching the boob tube and saw a preview for the next Frontline episode on PBS. It features alternative powered cars and the electric GTM that was built by a group of high school kids appears to be the focus of the show. In the teaser, it seems to document some of the build up through some road testing. Should be good, I've got my DVR setup.

The philly high school GTM is VW TDI powered, It's not even a hybrid anymore from my understanding. It was a hybrid last year though.

I watched the show on pbs last night. I was very impressed. They had a harley davidson engine and
an electric motor in escort and gtm.To make as far as they did was remarkable.I think the escort went 65mpg and
the gtm went 57mpg. Outstanding, great work.

I guess being a 'progressive' is a good thing. That's what we need in our schools. Great job West Philly High!
