Hey fellow builders. I bought the Wilwood upgrade kit for my 33 Ford. Fronts went on fine. Rears are a problem. The mounting bracket only allows 2 positions for the calipers. Either down towards the rear of the car or down and to the front. Either way the calioer won't fit because of shock or chassis clearance respectively. Anyone else had this issue? Any solutions? Part # for the kit I received is120-10012 & 3.

Down & toward the front. The only problem I had was that I first positioned the caliper mounting bracket (the 2 threaded studs) with the offset toward the outside instead of toward the center of the car. The studs should be closer to the differential. I also had to try different #'s of shims in 2 different spots to center the rotor in the caliper. (i.e., I didn't follow the manual for the shims). So that means the cable wraps back around the axle? Do you know which caliper belongs to the right and left sides?

Hey Mike, if you don't mind I'm moving this into the Hot Rod forum where you'll get more replies and hopefully some pic

Mike, the cables run under the axle and either above the panhard bar mount (in front of the lower portion of the shock), then toward the caliper or though the lowest hole below the shock (through the bracket).

If you e-mail me, I'll send you some pics of my caliper position. krbndvr@comcast.net

Are you aware the reservoirs won't work as shown in the maual picture. Too high, the body won't clear.

Even the little bit they peek over the firewall? They can't be mounted any lower. At the build school this wasn't an issue. I haven't put the body on yet.

Brian,

Did you make the mounting brackets for the reservoirs?

Mike

No, I fastened them to the frame where the manual told me to. I realize I'll need to make a bracket to lower them. And move them further toward the driver's side. Thanks.
