Oil Temperature Gauge Sending Unit Location

Trying to figure out where to install the sending unit for the Smiths oil temperature gauge on my
351W engine. Using the port between the fuel pump and oil filter for the oil pressure sending unit. I am using a Canton oil pan which has two fittings on top of the rear sump. One is for a dipstick but could the other be used for the sending unit?

You can use the pan or you can use the remote oil filter adapter if your using one.... Steven

Mine's in the pan, and seems to work just fine.

I used the stock pan and tapped out the oil level indicator port, works fine

Thanks guys. Sounds like a no-brainer..............will use the threaded bung in the oil pan.
