I'm really not sure who this should be addressed to, since is isn't really clear as to who is responsible for maintaining the forum.

But I wanted to pass along an observation, that I've seen posted here in the past.

When I try to do searches for GTM specific information, I find that I can't. You enter your specific search words and press enter... Then you hope that whatever comes back includes something close to what you need to see.

There is currently no functional way to search any of the individual forums (i.e., the GTM) exclusively.

Today, there was a person who asked for information regarding the use of the ABS brake system in the GTM. I've read multiple posts that have to do with ABS brakes, on this forum. Yet when I run a search, it's next to impossible to find anything. I see everything that has been posted for Roadster Brakes (not ABS) or for Subaru design... But very little in regard to GTM integration/use of ABS.

Can the forum manager(s) please put your heads together and see if there is some solution that can make this part of using the forum a bit more user friendly? It doesn't do a whole lot of good to store information if you can readily access it. We all know from past experience that it can be done, so hopefully it's just some quick website re-configuration that will allow it to happen.

Your help would be much appreciated by us all.

Thanks,

Mike

This is what I see when I pull up the Advanced Search Screen.
I highlight "Forums" (I don't see anything that allows for individual forums)
I enter my Key Words (Search Criteria)

There is nothing else that allows me to make the search any more narrow than this. So I click on the "Search Now" button.

These are the results that I get for ABS Brakes GTM... (I got the same results when I searched for GTM ABS Brakes)

- Power Steering Installation (Very helpful for when I ever build a 33 Hot Rod)
- Do it Yourself Alignment (Very nice write up by the way)!
- Front Brake Lines

So I am apparently missing something entirely, if you're saying that there is a way to search by unique forums. Because I don't see anything on my screens that get me to a more defined GTM Forum search, which would bring back information that is specific to GTM builds.

Again, any help would be appreciated.

On the very first page you show in the top right under your search terms , it says serch single content type (in deeper blue) next to search multiple content types( in lighter blue). You are actually in the lighter blue "search multiple content types", click on the other one to the left sayin "search single content types" then down lower on that page you will be able to find the forum your looking for in options...........Steven

A few minutes later, I go back in and pull up the search window, and wa-la... It comes up with the list of forums there, ready to be searched. I sure as heck wasn't able to see that before, and I went through both tabs and clicked on all possible options to try and find it.

When I see multiple tabs on a screen, the gray or lighter colored tabs are usually inactive. In this case, it seems that the bright clearly colored tab is inactive. Go figure.

Oh well, maybe this will help the next guy who has trouble doing a search by "forum name" on this forum.

I, too, felt like the search engine had "blown up" but I finally stumbled onto the key. It could be a little more user friendly but in lieu of changing the format maybe instructions in a sticky can be published and pointed out when someone has trouble. It's frustrating when you know the info is there and just can't access it! I do like the "latest posts" tab though. Thanks, WEK.

I think what is needed is the ability to use boolean searches (AND, OR, NOT, etc). That would really help in weeding out the fluff in the searches. I remember trying to search on LS3 engine installs and the search engine came out with 25+ pages of results. this was because it returned LS3, engine, and install seperately. If I was able to type in LS3 AND engine AND install it would of been a much more refined search.
