I have my Roadster on the road for the summer in gel coat. I have started at the same time to gap the doors, trunk and hood. So far this is going well and I am finding it less intimidating and difficult than I thought it would be. Everyone was right....it is actually difficult to remove too much material as long as you sneal up on it.

I do have a question. I would like to start some of the body work that requires the body on to do specifically around the drivers door and the mold parting lines on the rear of the car. If I start filling any area then I don't want to be driving the car with the possibility of getting those areas wet as I have heard that the filler will absorb water and this can cause problems later when painting. So, would it be possible to spray over these areas with a temporary coat of spray paint just to protect them?

Thanks

Yes, that isn't a problem, but just food for thought, when we are getting a body ready for Feather Fill we wash the whole thing down, which is great to clean those pinholes out. You just have to make sure to let it dry for a couple days in the sun before locking it down with Feather Fill

So are you saying that leaving the filler exposed is okay because as long as it is allowed to dry well there will be no problem? In my case the car will be completely off the road (for the body off body work) for at least three months before the it gets anywhere near requiring feather fill or paint.
