View Full Version : Posting in classifieds?

Anyone know how to post in the Classified section? I keep getting the following error:
You must select a thread prefix.
I don't see anyway to add a thread prefix.
After you click on the "Post new thread" button, you should see a "prefix" button (upper left.) Click it and depending on if your selling or buying, you'll see a "for sale" or "want to buy" in the drop down.

I'm not seeing a prefix button. Can someone try this and let me know if they see one? Trying to figure out if it is the site, my machine or user error.

Are you logged in? I don't have any problem going into the classified section, then going into the for sale sub forum section and trying to post a new thread. It comes up with a little drop down box in the upper left hand corner and you can only pick For Sale.

I have been trying to post in the Classifieds and I have this exact issue - no drop down box for thread pre-fix, and I can't post without it. Yes, I am logged in. This does appear to be a bug with the forum software. Perhaps the thread prefix dropdown only works with some browsers? I am using Safari on an iMac.

I continue to have this problem with both Google Chrome as well as Microsoft Internet Explorer

I'm going to send this thread to David and see if he has any ideas. I just checked the Classified section and completed a "dummy" ad without any trouble but we'll see if David can see what the trouble might be.

I have now logged out and back in, tried changing a bunch of things in my Profile, and tried 2 other computers each with a different browser - no dice. I just don't see the prefix button/drop-down no matter what I do.
A suggestion - since there are separate sub-forums for "For Sale" and "Wanted to buy" - do we really need a prefix? Can this simply be disabled for all users?

I've disabled forum prefixes for the classified section. Let me know if you continue to have issues.
