I found that drive in town at low speeds would get the body of the car really hot right above the Cats. When I drive on the highway no issues the air flow does the job in cooling, but in town its a totaly different story. After a short run ion town (30 min) the cats registered at 126 degree celcius (about 259 F) so I seach for a solution and here is waht I came up with.
I installed some reflective material on the body just above the Cats, I also made a heat cover for the cats out of some wooven silica material... And yes this product is intended for this purpose. I attach the cover with stainless Tyrap. In the comming days I will be able to test out this heat control solution, hope it works, the mod was relatively innexpensive about 100$ to do both sides. and of course pics to show.
