Hi,

Installing the cockpit rear wall and got to wondering if the very top of the cockpit rear wall (aluminum panel) should actually be touching the frame. Mine fits well with the rest of the pieces sitting about a half inch away (consistent spacing), but logic tells me that it should be touching the frame since the body will eventually rest on this. Rather than ponder for ever, figured I'd put it out to the forum for the answer. Thanks in advance

I have a MKIII and can't picture what you are talking about. Can you post a pic?

Here are some pics of my wall. The hole is part of a mod I did to create a trunk cubby. You can see that the wall is attached directly to the frame:

I am not sure if I understand exactly what you are talking about, but a piece of bulb seal goes across the top of the AL panel that seals the body. It needs some room to slip on.

...a piece of bulb seal goes across the top of the AL panel that seals the body.

Actually, it does not get bulb seal across the top of the wall however the wings do:

I too am unsure about exactly what you are referring to when you say "wondering if the very top of the cockpit rear wall (aluminum panel) should actually be touching the frame." Can you show us a picture or be more specific?

Jeff
