I plan on fabricating an under-the-car exhaust system on my MkIV roadster and need to find the right shorty headers. I’m thinking I can use the J pipes supplied in the basic kit to connect to the under car pipes (will use Spin Tech oval pipes) so was looking for a set of shorty headers to follow the installation in the manual. Since I will be installing a 351W engine (w/ standard exhaust ports), the MkIV manual states to use either Ford Racing (part M-9430-A58) or MAC (part E358692) headers and reverse them side to side. I checked the Ford Racing catalog and can’t find that part number listed and the MAC headers seem to be out of stock in the few places that sell them. I will be using a mechanical fuel pump so will also need to use a 90 degree filter adapter and short filter and will need headers that will not interfere with that setup or the Energy Suspension mounts.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Any other brand/make of headers will fit my specific application? Prefer “plain” headers since I plan to have the entire exhaust system black ceramic coated.
