I was right there with you about a month ago however mine was on the quadrant end:

Felt it go all crunchy when I depressed the clutch approaching a stop light in downtown Indianapolis and got a sinking feeling because I knew exactly what it was. It didn't fail totally and I made the 60 mile drive back home shifting without the clutch and desperately trying to time stoplights so that I could keep rolling! I think I only had to use it 5 or 6 times, holding my breath each time.

BTW, when I built the car I made a removable panel for the footbox top:

Well worth the effort! Made changing it a 10 minute job from above with no contorting while standing on my head inside the footbox :)
