I knew there were some issues about using a non 87 to 93 rearend. I actually traided one out for the rotors and 5 bolt pattern. Maybe I didn't think that out as well as I should have. So now is the time to "pay the piper" so to speak. I put the body on for the first time and had two issues: one with engine clearance which was quickly worked out but the wheel clearance one didn't go away so easily. So at this point I have some Monti Carlo wheels on the back that I made fit so I can road test, register, etc. So right now I have truck tires on 7 inch rims on the rear and 4 1/2 alum wheels on the front. Kinda like the look (hotrodish). But for the finished product, I would like to have a set of vintage looking wheels or other distinctive look like Cobra R. I'm a little anxious about ordering a set of wheels and ending up sending them back and forth until I find the right combo. For those of you have used this width rearend, What have you done to make it work?

Thanks in advance, WEK.

I have the '95 axles (I wanted ABS) and am using the Factory Five 17" x 9" Halibrands all around with 275/40 R17's on the rear and 245/45 R17's on the front. There is lots of room in this config and I could probably go a little bigger. Watch closely for the offset on the rim you choose as this makes all the difference.

You can order a disc brake kit from one of a few vendors that provides 5 lug fox width axles, and brackets to re-use your 95 discs. That will make the overall axle width correct and retain your disc rears.

The easy solution to be able to use popular, conventional offset wheels is to go with Richard Oben/North Racecars caliper relocation brackets and axles to bring your '95 rear to Fox width:
