Lots of passion on display at this site lately. My passion is a little different. In two weeks' time, my 16 year old co-builder son and I will take the car that we built and drive 640 miles each way to the London Cobra Show.

I've never considered driving that distance for any reason other than to visit family in the past. I've owned lots of cars that I really liked. A rational person would choose any of those cars over our hand-built Coupe for such a drive. It must be passion.

If you're going, we'll see you there!

You call it passion, my Wife calls it a sickness

Have fun and make sure to post some photos along the way so that we can all share in your adventure.

Good luck! I may make it out to the London Cobra Show. The difference between that trip in a regular car and the Coupe is the difference between seeing what's happening and being what's happening.

Have a safe trip! Some day when I build my own, long trips and adventures are a definate must! There is one customer with over 400,000 miles on his Mk1! I think the only time I would get out of my FFR would be to put gas in it. =)

It's very exciting going to these shows and I have been to many and the best ones are the ones you drive your car to! Doing it with your co-builder son will make it very special and one you guys will share forever. Enjoy the trip no mater what happens and you will have a blast!

That sounds like an awesome trip to me. If you have a smart phone, you should check out an app called Every Trail, it will GPS log your travels, and photos you take along the way get tagged to the map, a real cool way to share the trip with friends and family.
