I hope I'm not stealing Dave's thunder here, but got this press release yesterday and posted it this morning so I thought I'd share.

The finished car is going to be displayed at Columbus Goodguys in the Summit booth. I'm going to the show this year for the first time, so any FFrogs going let me know!

It has taken a long time, but FFR sure seems to be getting a lot of good main stream press lately!

This is exceptionally cool!. I like the idea that you can just place an order for a group of parts to finish the Roadster. A very creative an likely popular solution. I hope it really takes off. Well done Summit and FF!! And I know Murray is going to have a killer paint design to go with it as well! Super idea!

The amount of press and advertising for Factory Five is impressive. I guess that explains why more people ask if my car is a Factory Five than an original. It sounds like Summit plans to sell completion kits in stages. Kind of interesting to see what they offer.

While I love the idea and love Summit, we would be remiss in not remembering that Mark Reynolds (probably the most respected and reliable vendor in the entire FFR community) has already done this, in several different flavors.

Here's one example. (http://www.breezeautomotive.com/details.php?prod_id=611&cat_id=37)

I bought a lot of stuff from Mark and he still offers products specific to our cars that Summit won't have. I'm not sure if I'm blind or what, but I don't see Breeze Automotive as a vendor on this site. Mark is one of my favorite vendors either way.

I sure hope it's not a Home Depot/Walmart scenario with the little guys...

I have utmost respect for Mark Reynolds, his knowledge of our cars and service is excellent. Mike Forte is also an excellent resource. It should be noted that there is a lot more business out there than just the forum populations, our vendors and Summit should be going after all the aftermaket business. Just as FFR does.

I commend FFR for this marketing genius, and the way they have continued to be successful in a down economy marketing expensive items bought with descretionary funds.
Our vendors and Summit serve different markets with some obvious overlap, there is plenty of room for both.
It is also important to note that our vendors buy from Summit too.

In Summary as Mark ( the original poster)said on the other forum....

"Please, let's just be happy for FFR and the exposure our rides are getting and the vendors here, as long as they keep up their great service, will be around for a long time."
