Hello Roadsters, I am using a 97 fuel tank with an external fuel pump. I purchased new fuel tank componets (sending unit and pump housing). I figured out the fuel sending unit. However, with a external pump can anyone tell me how to configure the pump housing plumbing?

Do you have a picture of your pump housing? If you are using an external pump, your pick up assy should be the type that extends the pickup tube all the way down to the bottom of the tank with a filter on the end of the tube. Something like the one in the picture. Bill

I used a Ganatelli fuel pickup, like the picture above. Plumbed to fuel filter then to pump using AN fittings and Aeroquip hose.

Filter should be on the pressure side of the pump, not the vacuum side.

thank you very much. As far as inside of the fuel tank can you give me details on that part?

Not a lot to say for the inside, install the pickup like my picture and lock it down with the locking ring. Just make sure the suction is in the baffled sump area of the tank.

Pump installed per Mallory instructions, no issues:

If you post a picture of your pickup we can tell if you have one that will work. If you have one that you normally mount a fuel pump into, that won't work unless a vendor sells some kind of adapter. If you have one like previously posted, you should have no problem. Mark at Breeze Automotive will most likely have a solution.

Out of curiousity, are you running a carb or fuel injection? If you are running FI and you have a return style system you would need a pick assy with two lines in it. Just wondering, Bill

I am running a carb. I will order the assembly from breezes. Thank you
