Well, the much anticipated day is almost here, this Friday to be exact. Stewart Transport should arrive at my house with my dream car this FRIDAY!!! I am excited about this huge challenge. I have all of my parts preped and staged so hopefully the build goes well.

Question: If I call Factory Five will they be able to tell me which parts went back order before I do my inventory when the kit arrives?

Congrats on the impending delivery! You'll get a backorder list with the shipment.

Try to get some sleep before it arrives. I found that Factory Five was very good about shipping the back ordered items as soon as they could. I did not have to remind them at all. Boxes at the front door were like Christmas surprises and my wife assumed all boxes were "already-paid-back-orders" so a bunch of other struff I bought got into the garage without any comments. Don't forget the Vroom, vroom photo.

Thanks AZPete, how did your build go?

ksamson, the build was one of the most fun/satisfying/rewarding/challenging/consuming/fun things I have done. There were some hurdles that appeared insumountable at the time but after some thought and help from the forums each problem was solved. Look at it as hundreds of small projects and you'll have hundreds of accomplishments and pride over each little thing finished. I enjoyed the build more than driving the 9,000 miles I put on my Mk3 but there's nothing quite like cruising at 80+ mph thinking "I built it" or seeing a Ferrari and thinking, "It's cool, but he didn't build it." I look forward to the next build (MK4 or 818?) but I need more stability in my business to commit the funds.
Enjoy the journey!
Pete

Congrats! The "main road" by my house is a dead end, and the driver had to turn the semi around on my side street. (I live in BFE). Did a bang up job. Then we moved everything 1/2 block to my garage. FF is really good about getting back ordered parts out quickly. Don't think I waited more than a couple of weeks for all the stuff. Hope your build goes smoothly!

Congrats! The fun begins soon. The first page in your inventory paperwork should be the back ordered parts list. It's usually a short list. Look in box #1 for the steering wheel for the required cheesey photos :)

Take plenty of photos!

You won't need to call - they mark everything and give you a separate back order sheet. I had a couple of items on the way before the kit even arrived.

Just talked to FF and they said all parts shipped and zero parts are back order:)

Thank you Jorge. My car won't be here until this Wed. That's fine gives me more time to build my body buck.

Doing the happy dance over here for you. The two best days so far were delivery and first start. The rest were pretty good as well, but today is a day you will remember fondly for the rest of your life. Enjoy it and post a ton of pictures.

I imagine ksamson must be too busy doing inventory and diving into his build to get back here and post pictures. Congrats man! Looking forward to seeing all the pics.

Oh no! Two days ago ksampson said the truck was 2 hours away and he promised to post photos. Now there's nothing! Could he have climbed onto the truck to check for more boxes when the driver closed the doors and drove off? Is ksampson being deliverd to the next guy on the route? Enquiring minds want to know.
