Hi guys I see some of the cars have a different type of brake fluid reservoir container some are what appears to be either aluminum or stainless. What are they and why use them they deffenetly look better then the plastic one supplied by FFR also why two ? Is it to keep the front and rear separated ? Will this mean u will loose front or rear but not both in the event u have a leak ?

Many, including me, have used the CNC reservoirs. Their 1482 double reservoir is perfect for brakes. Available a number of places for around $100. They have a three reservoir model if you also have a hydraulic clutch setup.

It's all aluminum, and very high quality. Most mount it somewhere on the 3/4 inch tube in the area of the driver foot box / master cylinder. Depending on where you mount it, will need some type of mounting bracket. I made mine out of .125 aluminum. Pretty easy. They also sell a matching pressure cap that I highly recommend. Used for bleeding the system and works very well.
Reasons for changing: Probably mainly appearance, but also little/no chance of leaking like some of the plastic varieties. And yes, the two separate reservoirs give you two separate brake circuits (front/back) for safety.

Just as an FYI, although the OEM reservoir has a single fill point there is a divider within that effectively makes a separate chamber for the front and rear circuits, so there is no risk of a leak on one end emptying the other.

I agree. Mike Forte is a forum vendor, and as I recall he carries. I think he also has another in-house reservoir that he sells.
When I bought mine (a couple of years ago) this was the best price I found and shipped immediately. Still is a good price:

Also really recommend this cap:

Will that work with a brake booster too? Or will the body hit it? Part # for a whitby kit?

If you're asking about the Whitby power brake kit, it comes with a master cylinder already. Since it's all a matched setup, I would use the one they supply. It's setup for remote reservoirs BTW. This is the link to their kit:

Installed this kit during my build. Was a bit of work, but not terrible. Brakes are excellent.

Yes, an OEM Fox Mustang vacuum booster with either Fox or SN95 master cylinder will work. I've done it on both Mk3 and Mk4 builds. See my Mk4 build thread linked below for details.

Edward did you have any leaking at the reservoirs. I haven't got to go cart stage yet but have had some leaking on mine either at the hoses or where the top and bottom come together. I like the kit but just noted the minimal leaking.

If you mean the CNC's, no, I haven't had any leak issues. Haven't heard of anyone who has. Maybe you mean the Wilwood's included with the Whitby kit? Many have reported leaking issues with those. I never put fluid in them, so I personally can't cite any issues. I went directly to the CNC's.

I went to your web site and searched on 'Brake fluid reservoir' ; it says no match on the search results.

Call them. Much of what they sell isn't on the their website.
