Have been planning a Coyote motor for the roadster, but have a chance to get an 03 Terminator with all the accessories, the 6 speed, harness, ecm and intercooler with 57k miles for $6500.

What do you guys think?

The 03' Terminator engine requires some frame modification. The dual pulley system for the blower sticks out farther in the front and you have to notch the front 4" round tube in the chassis for the crank pulley to fit.

The Coyote install kit from FFR is really close to being ready. If you can weld then the Terminator option would be cool. If not, use the Coyote as it will be able to bolt right in.

If you want more power than you can possibly imagine the Terminator is good for that, The Coyote has similar power but is much more controllable and civilized,

Coyote if it was my money, but $ 6500 is a pretty good deal if complete for the terminator.

The Coyote plus all the trimmings will be double the Terminator (I'm guessing) IMO the Terminator is a better buy, if you're not afraid of a few mods. It's been done before and you would be able to tap some SoCal members for tips. Sergio down in San Diego pioneered the terminator setup.

Correct on all counts. Coyote, alternator kit, Control pack, Trans, clutch, bellhousing etc will be $15K easy. Mods are very documented and doable.

The Terminator is a good deal BUT I have a hard time putting down 6500 hundred and not hearing it run..If there is a internal problem i.e spun bearing you won't know it until you have it ALL hooked up and running..It may cost more in the long run then if you just went with the Coyote from the get go..Also the Terminator is an iron block while the Coyote is an ALL aluminium engine if you are looking at a weight comparison..I would take the safe road and go Coyote..Just my 2 cents :)

If you want to compare donor Terminator to Donor Coyote you get:

Motor - $3650 (w/ starter, alternator, covers)
Trans - $800
Controls - $1350
Oil Pan - $500
_________

$6300. But you'll have to be quick and lucky to get a deal :)
